 Intercultural-Environmental Organization

The Association FILOXENIA, Intercultural - Environmental Organization, inspires, educates and connects young people through actions since 1995! The Association implements voluntary projects, seminars, internships and youth exchanges, focusing on the intercultural and environmental field, aiming to raise awareness and support young people and society in these areas. The Association focuses on issues such as environmental education, intercultural relations, feminism, anti-racism, memory, solidarity and civic education. Through international projects that take place in the mountainous rural community of Kryoneri, Corinthia, and abroad, we want to encourage young people to broaden their horizons, to express themselves freely and to become agents of change in their communities.

In its 30-year history, FILOXENIA welcomed the first young volunteer in Greece in 1997, in the framework of the European Program "YOUTH" and participated in a multitude of actions, European and national youth training and education programs, transfer of know-how and support to youth organizations in Greece, such as the Prefectural Youth Council of Corinthia and the Youth Center of Corinth. It also actively participated in important international networks of youth organisations (PLATFORM, ENYC, ECOCITIZENS, etc.).

The Corinthian Environmental Movement, as a regional environmental organization, has completed ten years of activity, with important contributions to ecological issues, particularly for the protection of the Corinthian Gulf and the rivers of Corinthia, with active participation and co-operation at regional, national and international networks of environmental organizations (ALKYON, PANDOIKO, GREENPEACE).
