The 1st INTERNATIONAL JAZZ MUSIC WORKSHOP IN KRYONERI ΚORINTHIAS (GREECE) WAS LAUNCHED
The 1st International Jazz Workshop started on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Kryoneri, organized by the non-governmental organization "Filoxenia". The workshop takes place first time in Greece and ends Wednesday, July 18, 2013.
In this first year we host finest musicians from the USA, the Czech Republic and Greece, who are distinguished teachers and share their experience and knowledge with the Greek and Belgian students.
This music workshop enables all participants, regardless of age and musical level, to improve their skills on a personal and band level and indulge in jazz music.
The exercise venues are the Cultural Club and the Gymnasium (secondary school) of Kryoneri, as well as the Hostel Elisson's seminar room
The workshop takes place in the frame of the "Kryoneri Cultural Week 2013" and the "Sikyonia 2013" summer festivities, organized by the Entity "Mikoni" of the Sikyonion Municipality.
The embassies of the Czech Republic and the U.S. in Greece are supporting this workshop.
Teachers and participants play every night live in jam sessions in Diporto Cafe in Kryoneri.
The masters concert of Skip Wilkins (piano), Libor Smoldas (guitar), Dan Wilkins (saxophone), Spiros Panagiotopoulos (percussion) & Pericles Trivolis (bass) will be held Monday, 15/7/2013 at 21.00 in the courtyard of the Gymnasium of Krioneri, where we will enjoy the virtuosity of the teachers.
The closing concert of the workshop's participants will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Diporto Cafe, in Kryoneri.

The International Summer Jazz Workshop is organized by the non-profit youth organization "Filoxenia" for the first time in Kryoneri, during the period 12-18 July, 2013.
The main idea is to enable all interested musicians (no age limit), to improve their musical skills in Jazz.
The ultimate aim is to create an international music seminar in Corinthia, similar to other serious events in Europe (see:

The workshop will take place during the "Cultural Week 2013" of the Kryoneri Cultural Youth Association and the cultural summer festivities "Sikionia 2013", organised by the public entity "Mikoni" of the Sikyonion Municipality.
It is open to musicians from around the world and all levels. During the workshop, participants will improve their skills at personal and band level, as well as in jazz music theory. They will also play every night in "jam sessions" that will be hosted in the Cafe "Diporto". Participants will be accommodated in the Hostel Elisson and in private homes in Kryoneri.
The week will include a Masters Concert on Monday, 15/7/2013 (Kryoneri Gymnasium) and a Closing Concert on Thursday, 18/7/2013 (Kryoneri open-air Amphitheatre), with all participants.
Participation certificates, signed by teachers, will be awarded to all participants who attend the workshop.
The organiser "Filoxenia" is active in Kryoneri since 1997 and cooperates with the Sikyonion municipality with and with local associations, in order to implement international cultural and educational events.
