Youth exchange on inclusion "Slam Down Silence"

Hosting organisation: Filoxenia

During the period 11-17 July 2018 youngsters from Greece and Germany (hearing, deaf and hard hearing youngsters), participated in the youth exchange "Slam Down Silence" in Greece, Kryoneri Korinthias. The participants took part in different activities like: ice-breakers, “getting to know each other” games and took part in hip-hop dancing and graffiti. Other activities were: Going to the beach for swimming and playing beach volley in the nearest city named "Kiato", painted the school and the Cultural Center Polykentro of the village doing "Mandalas" Art and graffiti, visited Acrocorinth, ate traditional food in ancient Corinth, swomm in the lake "Vouliagmeni" and saw the lighthouse. This was a very good experience because we learnt many things about the Sign language by which the deaf people were communicating with each other. Of course it was a little bit difficult to communicate the usual way with the deaf people but the interpreters helped us much with the translation. Also, everyone hoped and wished to see each other again at the second part of the project next year in Germany.
