ACT GREEN 2022
The Act Green project brought together 15 volunteers from various countries to support a rural community by cleaning and restoring forest trails. Over several days, the diverse team worked on clearing litter, removing invasive plants, and repairing pathways to enhance the safety and accessibility of historical hiking routes.
The project prioritized inclusion by welcoming young people from different backgrounds, especially those with fewer opportunities. No prior experience was required, making it accessible to anyone eager to contribute. The volunteers shared their cultures and perspectives, fostering a rich intercultural exchange.
The restored trails quickly benefited the local community, encouraging outdoor activities and boosting eco-tourism. The international presence also brought a spirit of solidarity, strengthening ties between volunteers and residents.
Emphasizing green practices, the project utilized eco-friendly tools and sustainable trail maintenance techniques, ensuring a lasting positive impact on the environment.
Act Green demonstrated the power of team volunteering, leaving a meaningful legacy in environmental conservation and community engagement.
