Leo Mann and Cara von Pronay are both active volunteers in the mountain village of Kryoneri Korinthias. They are engaged in a number of projects, performing a range of duties for the Filoxenia organisation.
Their primary responsibility is the development and publication of content on the websites of Filoxenia and matsani.gr.
A significant portion of their responsibilities entails assisting with the upkeep of the hiking trails, which lead to a cave where a Jewish family sought refuge during the years 1943-44. They work alongside groups on those trails, which are managed by Filoxenia. The volunteers also provide content support to Filoxenia.
They work focused on memory issues, such as the creation of an audio guide connected with an historical walking tour concerning the points of interest in the village, about the salvation of Kamhi’s Jewish family from Athens during the II. World War. The upload of information concerning Memory on Filoxenia’s website memoryalive.org is a main task of their voluntary service in Kryoneri.
The volunteers are active in the community and participate in all village events. They also undertake self-planned projects, such as events for local children and young people and a foreign language practice (Tandem).
