During the period 4th-10th of September, 5 youngsters (14-21 y.o.) and their leader, from Filoxenia, travelled to the island of Thassos where they participated in Erasmus+ Youth exchange «Building bridges» Greece.
For these 7 day, youngsters met people from Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Romania, who took part in “getting to know each other” activities.
Everyday youngsters participated in arts and sports activities such as archery, horseback riding, climbing, pool etc, provided by Pitsas Camp (where they stayed). In addition, participants could choose two workshops between dance, theater and arts. The last day, there was a performance where theater and dance workshops presented what they were working on. Art workshop made a mosaic that now decorates the entrance of the Pitsas Camp.
Two day trips were also organized, one at the beach, where kids tried water sports and scuba diving and the other at the city of Thassos, where they also visited the Archeological Museum of Thassos.
This exchange was a beneficial experience for the youngsters, they had the opportunity to live and cooperate with other youngsters of different nationalities, with and without disabilities. And to understand the meaning of diversity in our daily life.
