Youth exchange “Multiculti” in Bornheim, Germany 04.09.-11.09.2022.
"Last September, I took part in an Erasmus program, Youth exchange related to the music.
Young people from Germany, Spain, Greece and Slovakia found ourselves in a village outside Bonn, in Germany. We stayed in a hostel – Jugend Akademie which was in the nature, with very nice spaces and food.
Our program was very diverse, at beginning we started with some games get to know each other, we walked in the surrounding, cooperate in different teams during the workshops, took part in an African drums workshop with the musician from Africa and learnt something about their culture. Also we prepared a questioner and made a survey with local people in Bonn asking our questions and visited Cologne city as well. Every evening we prepared different Intercultural event about our cultures from our countries. We were dancing, presenting our history, our music, food ect.
Each one of us either played a musical instrument or sang. One of the goal of the week was to divide into groups and compose our own music. It was a unique experience. Each group created new original music, that we will remember forever, with our own lyrics, music that brought us together. At the end we represented our music, during the final event/concert to our guests from local community.
I learned a lot about the musical culture of other countries, I made new friends and we managed to bond as a team not through speech but through the music."
