Ole Rohra and Raban Petri are dedicated volunteers in Ioannina, contributing significantly to the local Jewish community and the Lingiades Martyr village. Their work includes translation of activities into German and English, making important community information accessible to a broader audience. They are in charge to maintain the websites of Lingiades and the Jewish Community of Ioannina, ensuring that the online presence is active and engaging, which helps in reaching out to interested individuals globally.
In addition, Ole and Raban assist with the preparation of exhibitions and events organized by the social cooperative “Epirus Memories” in cooperation with the Jewish Community, concerning the 80the anniversary of the Ioannina Jewish community’s deportation to the German concentration camp of Ausschwitz in 1943.
They cooperate in supporting cultural and historical walks city walks that highlight the rich history and heritage of Ioannina’s Byzantine, Jewish and Muslim past. Their involvement extends to the Lingiades new Culture Centre, where they help with visits of youth groups and schools, by film screenings and following discussions concerning the documentary “The Balcony”, contributing to the preservation of historical records concerning the Holocaust of Lingiades.
